Hummingbird Hideaway is a GREAT place for a family vacation. The cabins are very nice and clean and the owners are wonderful. The lake is beautiful and offers fantastic fishing and is not crowded for those afternoon water sports. I highly recommend Hummingbird Hideaway and we are looking forward to our next trip there.
Wife and I spent 3 days in late Aug. early Sept. 2016 at the Hummingbird resort. We found the owners to be wonderful host and knowledgeable of the lake and area. The cabins range from the old fish camp style cabins (40s and 50s) to much more modern units that sleep families. Boats are in good shape for rental and the covered boat dock (1/4 mile from units) is new and easily accessed with plenty of parking and a boat ramp. The office has some small grocery items and plenty of fishing tackle and lures. The gazebo near the pool is a great place to enjoy a bottle of wine in the evening. There is volleyball and horseshoe pit for all to use and enjoy. Lot's of wildlife near lake to enjoy as well. We will return next year.
Outstanding personal attention, help with what to fish for, where to fish, colors to use, and even how to best prepare striper. Lou and Linda are wonderful. It was like fishing with family.
Great place to come and stay. Resort is in good shape and is very well maintained. The owners are very nice and will help you in any way that they can. We will keep coming back.
