Awesome place, even better owners! Doug is the nicest guy you will ever meet! Cabins are in great shape, and well organized! Not to mention, the lake is beautiful!
If you want a four star hotel, go elsewhere. We loved the place. Pool, playground for the kids. Room to run. Considerate neighbors and the owner, Doug, was great. I would definitely go back!
Awesome place!
I'm not a preener nor am I pickey but I feel obligated to share my experience in its entirety.. I'll begin with that I've been to this "resort" before years ago and I had an amazing time!! There wouldn't be one thing I'd change about that first experience... then there was this experience.. from the very first second we arrived something was off.. I walked into the general store to pay and the place was barren!! I kid you not.. barley any general good what so ever!! Meaning I took a brief inventory.. two bags of Doritos, one package of Oreos, twi bags of charcoal and a few canned goods. (Pics to prove it) I met the "owner" (nice gentlemen at first) and paid around $800 for the week... which I wouldn't mind paying except this resort was falling apart!! He hands me the key to our cabin and leaves the resort. That next morning we go fishing come back to our cabin to discover he gave us the wrong key... we sat outside of our cabin in 95 degree weather for an hour before we got our correct key... let's talk about the amenities... the "game room" was destroyed... meaning, pool table had broken cues, missing a ball and table was rotting.. let's put it this way, there wasn't a single piece of equipment that didn't need some tlc in one way or another... the pool: so as far as the water goes, fairly well taken care of if you don't mind it not being vacuumed... but the pool walls, they we like shards of glass... they used a blue paint sealer but I assume didn't prep before they rolled it.. the paint is pulling away flaking off. Epoxy paint hardens and is very sharp. Two of my three kids got cut. One on his foot and one on his hand just swimming.. now for the owner.. we'll, like I said, nice guy generally... here's my issue. After a long day on the lake we decided to go for a swim in the razor pool.. I crack open a beer poolside excited to just relax... 5 minutes Into my beer this guy comes over and tip toes around asking me to get rid of the beer bottle I had in my hand... I said no problem and I even understood why he asked me not too... safety.. I get it... but, if this is a policy shouldn't it be posted? Some places allow you to some don't... just post it... now, if you like your privacy then don't rely on having any while your there... this guy will straight up just barge right into your cabin.. he barged in uninvited not once but twice.. I'm bickering I know but this place at one time was soo great and was cared for.. it saddens me it's falling apart.. oh and the dock, so over grown and unkept that you'll need hiking gear just to get to it... crazy.. In a nut shell, never felt welcome and for the price that resort should NOT be falling apart the way it is.. it's a shame.. really..
