What a fun experience! We came down to participate in the David's Trail Endurance Run in January 2016. Rocking Chair Resort was the trailhead and base for the race, and all the after race festivities happened around the resort as well. The resort was easy to find and well laid out. We stayed in one of the condo units, #16. The resort is very pet friendly, and my dog was greeted warmly by all the staff. Our condo was great, very large and airy with a lot of natural light. The kitchen was well stocked and had modern appliances and all the items necessary for cooking up a feast. The living room had plenty of comfortable furniture and doors that led out to a nice, wide deck. There are two bedrooms, the master bedroom also has doors leading out to the deck. With central heat and air and lots of hot water in the bathrooms, our stay was very comfortable. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we are going back in just a few weeks! The access to David's Trail is just a short walk from the resort, it's so nice to get in a full day of hiking and exploring and then be able to go back to our room for a hot shower and soft bed! We recommend staying at Rocking Chair Resort!
The resort is amazing. It's so much fun and there's lots to do. The surrounding area has lots of fishing, hiking, and camping which are the areas biggest attractions. The cabins are older but they are well maintained and clean.
This is our newest family tradition. We discovered Rocking Chair by accident 3 years ago and had an incredible week there. Last year, we decided to get a cabin on a lake in OK to recreate the experience, but in a different location just to try it. We quickly learned how wrong we were. There is no other place like Rocking Chair. We came back for the summer of '17 and had such an incredible time again. Super reasonable prices, great boats, pool, game area, a store that my kids could visit for their midday ice cream treat, everything you could want or need. We already can't wait to go back!
